Fields of Gold

Winter is over now
The blossom's on the tree
now I can breath.

The Snow's all gone from the ground
where no life could be found
But I can see green
New life can be seen again

Did you hear that summer rain sing?
When you knew, new life could be begin
you planted a seed, just to watch it grow
into a Tree of life

Hoping, you could be walking
in those fields of Gold
Where the skies are always blue.
The fruit is on the tree
It looks so sweet!

But when your roots are dry,
and your suffocating,
Just put aside the earthly things
that have kept you bound,
and be fruitful

It's Love, Joy, Peace, Patience,
Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness,
Gentleness and Self Control
Tree of Life

Worldviews

Inspired by my Theology class.

A long time ago, perhaps in Middle Ages or in Renaissance... before the Enlightenment Period, people believed that the Earth is flat. They wanted toreach the sky. The moon, the sun, and the stars were thought to be hanging somewhere above, at the top of the sky.
People believed that they live in some sort of a bowl. If they really really wanted, they could reach the sky. That's where the story of Babel kicks in. People started building a tall tower to reach the top of this world.

This picture is about them - from the past and their perception of the world.

New beginnings

There are so many opportunities waiting for you once you graduate. Stairwells and doors all around. But which one is the right one?

Baigiau studijas šių metų gegužę. Buvo be proto įdomu mokytis.

When our wants exceed capacity...

This was created to complete a short assignment for my Expository Writing class. My task was to write a text - a message, without using words. It also had to have just one central idea.

Thus, I chose the medium that I know best - drawing. I drew this little girl's story about being greedy.

Lately I have been traveling a lot. When you do not use half of your suitcase or when your backpack weighs so much, you realize how many things you actually do not need.

Snipping to the Ocean

During my semester in Massachussets I met quite a few wonderful people. One of them was Sarah. Sarah was a friend of my friends and an art student. She filled ordinary moments with joy, inspiration, love and life. Sometimes I ran into her in the arts center - Barrington, sometimes we went cycling or tandeming, and other times we just simply talked. Thank you friend for overflowing moments with joy and love.

Thus, to Sarah:
      for wonderful tandem biking trips to the ocean
      for inspiration
      for creativity
      for climbing on Barrington's  roof at midnight

Raudonkepuraitė/ Apple Picking

In Autumn of 2011, I shared a room with Diana - a lovely girl from Cornerstone. A gentle, book-loving, fashion-interested, enjoying-cooking girl. Our room was, simply stated, small. Thus, we called it 'The Pocket'. Next to our university campus was an old garden. It was Autumn. This means it was apple season. Perhaps twice or 3 times we went apple picking there. And then it was all about apple pies, baked apples, fried apples, apples with noodles, apples with rice...

The summer of 2011 I spent alone in London. I worked at the coffee shop in youth skate park. (Gorgeous park a.k.a. the Bushy Park). Throughout the series of prints I am telling a story of people I met during those 4 months. It was an enriching, yet lonely experience. I find, the way I felt similarly portrayed here: http://www.aeonmagazine.com/being-human/olivia-laing-me-lonely-in-manhattan/#comments-area

Summer Projects

It was a beautiful, a little bit chilly summer day (even for Lithuania) and Aurelija decided to go to the sea and visit her Klaipėda's friends.

Allison, who always accepts travelers and provides them with the sleeping surface, has 1000 ideas in her head. And I happened to stay with her.

Allison is a heavy reader and a lover of books. In addition to this, she sometimes feels lonely in her studio apartment in the old town of Klaipėda. Thus, she came up with a great idea how to use her friend's talent - to ask for a reading friend.

Hence, with a help of Vaiva's pencil and an eraser and Emas' paints, the girl was created and now she is sitting on one of the paintings above the couch.

Reflections from Intaglio Printmaking course

First work: Metropolitan City Dynamics. 5 Stages
It is so good to learn from the fellow artists and be challenged by Rembrandt's nth stages. Evenings of birds, acid, turkeys walking in the parking lot, soda ash, vinegar mixture, soya...lots of paper towels and not so white blotting cotton towels, clothing pins, tarlatan, copper and plexi plates, conversations and laughter sometimes out of craziness of the work load and exhaustion or just enjoyment.

The Studio

Studio - a place where all of our Sunday nights were spent and where Tyler climbed through the window if it was closed. Also, a place on which roof strangers walked late (very late) at night.

Allisonitai!

  1. Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
    Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
    When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
    • Refrain:
      I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
      For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
  2. “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
    And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
    Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
  3. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
    When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
    I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Prisiliesti
